“Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” The power of Theodore Roosevelt’s words applies directly to the type of human being I am. Compassion lies at my core and I have channeled this value through my artistry and citizenry. Compassion, along with enthusiasm and a profound love for music have amplified my ability to create connection and meaning through music. Dedicated to mentorship, I believe every individual has unique gifts and I always seek to amplify one’s gifts to allow for greater connection and freedom of expression.

My goal is to always motivate and challenge musicians and to push the level of artistry to a higher level with every rehearsal and performance. With my musical approach, I maintain a high level of musicianship and quality with every piece I conduct.  Beyond musical skills, I aim to inspire the musicians I work with a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness.

What makes a good conductor from a great one is leadership, bringing forth vision to inspire and having tremendous integrity both musical and personal. I continue to evaluate and assess myself after every rehearsal and concert – wanting to improve my effectiveness and further serve the people for which I work. What brings me great joy as a conductor is reaching someone who has never been to a concert or heard classical music, especially in a way that was relevant to them, and feeling that they made a connection with the music. I am a life-long learner and have a desire to further expand my personal agency where I can bring my artistic and leadership skills and develop projects that are innovative, educational and relevant, particularly to audiences facing barriers to classical music access.
